SUMMARY

The main goal in this theoretical-practical course is to offer an update in endodontics from diagnosis, instrumentation, irrigation and obturation to reach a predictable treatment as well as to introduce the use of bioceramic sealers in our daily clinical practice.

 

GENERAL LEARNING POINTS

• The advancement of metallurgy in the field of Endodontics leads to the design and manufacture of new rotary systems files with and increased flexibility and higher resistance to fracture.

• Introduce the GP to the use of bioceramic materials.

 

SPECIFIC LEARNING POINTS

• Learn to perform pre-endodontic restorations in complex cases.

• Review of all irrigant activation techniques: manual, sonic, ultrasonic and mechanical activation.

• Introduce the GP in different obturation techniques with bioceramic sealers.

• Be able to choose the most appropriate filling technique depending on the clinical case.

FRIDAY (day 1)

9 am - 7.30 pm

MORNING SESSION ( 9 am to 1.30 pm )

• Biological principles and diagnosis in Endodontics.

• Why should we do a pre-endodontic restoration? Tricks for complex cases.

• Cavity access. Success keys. Ultrasonic tips.

• Root canal rotary instrumentation with the RACE EVO® system. Stainless steel vs Ni-Ti. New alloys. Why is RACE EVO® a fast, safe and efficient system?

 

MORNING HANDS-ON

• Live demonstration (Dr. Antonio Conde)

• Attendees could practice with 3D plastic and natural teeth the rotary system file explained during the theoretical part.

 

AFTERNOON SESSION ( 3 pm to 7.30 pm )

• Metallurgy evolution. Where do we come from and where are we going?

• Importance of root canal chemical-mechanical disinfection. How can we improve it?. All irrigant activation systems will be described.

• Implementing diode laser as complementary therapy during our routine protocol in disinfection.

 

AFTERNOON HANDS-ON

• Live demonstration (Dr.Antonio Conde)

• Attendees will be introduced to the use of XP-Endo Finisher in their irrigation protocol.

SATURDAY (day 2)

9 am- 7.30 pm

MORNING SESSION ( 9 am to 1.30 pm )

• Obturation: concepts,objectives,materials and techniques

• 3D obturation: “Wave continuous technique”

• Bioceramics I : introduction,types and composition. Biological obturation

 

MORNING HANDS-ON

• Live demonstration (Dr.Jorge Domínguez)

• Attendees could practice the wave continuous technique step by step with natural teeth.

 

AFTERNOON SESSION ( 3 pm to 7.30 pm )

• Bioceramics II : clinical use and applications. Single cone cold technique. Warm techniques with bioceramic sealers,is it possible?

 

AFTERNOON HANDS-ON

• Live demonstration (Dr.Jorge Domínguez)

• Attendees could practice single cone cold technique as well as warm techniques with 3D plastic and natural teeth using bioceramic sealers (Total Fill BC-sealer and Total Fill Hi-Flow)

‼️IMPORTANT NOTE

It is required to bring extracted natural teeth with chamber access (at least one incisor, one premolar and one molar). 

The more teeth the better
